What do I wear to my first day of sailing?
Sailing School Your instruction will take place in a classroom setting as well as out on a sailboat, so wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the day's weather. Depending on the day's winds, there is a likelihood of getting wet so try to wear clothing that is still comfortable under these conditions. You may also want to bring a hat and sunscreen (SPF 15 or higher) as sunny days out on the water can be intense. Lastly, make sure your shoes have non-slip soles to grip to a wet boat deck. We prefer deck shoes, which usually have "razor cut" soles that allow for good grip of the deck (NO black sole sandals/sneakers).

What should I bring for the Learn to Sail course?
Be prepared to learn! You should bring a pen and paper for taking notes during the classroom sessions. Because the class will last all day, we will give you several opportunities to take a break, including a lunch break. You may want to bring a sandwich or other food and beverage with you for the break. If you want to be really prepared, bring the day's weather/tidal report with you and impress your instructor!

Testimonials
Spent four days sailing at Castle Harbor with my MBA program in December '09. The Castle Harbor staff were awesome. I was amazed at how much I learned in such a short time. The Biscayne Bay was absolutely beautiful that time of year, and it was just an all around great experience. The class behind me also did a travel seminar with Castle Harbor and the reviews were great.

There is an old sailor by the name of Josh here. Ask for him by name. He is skilled beyond words and will teach you everything you need to know about sailing, the winds, the oceans and all of life's unanswerable questions.
